Who can register?

Any non-profit can receive recurring donations through ShopDonation: foundations, associations, charities and community projects, but also schools, hospitals, personal initiatives, sponsor challenges, sports clubs, music groups and social enterprises.

It works like crowdfunding, so you don't need to be a registered foundation. You only need permission from the founder if that isn't you.

How much can you earn as a cause?

Each supporter who shops through ShopDonation generates around €5 per month for their cause. Even for large charities, that's like gaining a regular monthly donor, without the recruitment costs.

What you earn depends on how many supporters you inspire to shop through ShopDonation. And since we work worldwide, your cause can raise funds everywhere.

Trusted by thousands of causes

Thanks to ShopDonation we put 20 children on a primary school in Andong, Cambodia. Now that ShopDonation expanded to multiple countries, that means even more sources of free donations... amazing.

Without any costs we receive financial support from ShopDonation for the treatment of our daughter Zoë. She deserves it! Through email, both the shoppers and us receive a confirmation when a donation has been made. Very happy with the transparency, it builds a lot of trust.

In the beginning we were skeptical, but after we started promoting, we now receive daily donations through ShopDonation. Amazing for all animals in emergency situations.

Frequently asked questions

Do shoppers pay more when using ShopDonation?
No. Shoppers pay the same amount as if they went directly to the store's website, and they keep earning the same loyalty points.
Where does the money for the donations come from?
Brands pay us a commission each time we bring them a customer. We donate the commission shown on our website to the buyer's chosen cause.
Can shoppers even save money when using ShopDonation?
Yes! We negotiate exclusive deals and discounts with our brands, so shoppers can even save money. That makes it more attractive for your supporters to keep raising funds for your cause.
Does it cost anything for causes to use ShopDonation?
No, it's completely free for your cause and your supporters. The webshops cover the donation. There are no sign-up or platform fees.
Will you share any data with commercial third parties?
No. We never share data with any third party that isn't necessary for ShopDonation to work. We don't share any data with brands, and we don't even share a user's data with the cause they support.
How much can my cause earn?
A regular shopper generates around $5 per month on average. With light, consistent promotion this grows into a steady income as you build a group of recurring shoppers. Businesses can generate between $100 and $500 per month with their company purchases.

ShopDonation creates a continuous, reliable income stream that grows over time, not just one-time donations.
Can individuals or small initiatives join, too?
Yes. Any nonprofit, community project or individual initiative with a social purpose can register and raise funds: charities, sports clubs, music groups, art projects, sponsor challenges and social enterprises are all welcome.
Is ShopDonation available in other countries as well?
Yes, we are the only concept of its kind available worldwide, so causes can raise funds in multiple countries at once. See which countries are live on shopdonation.org.
How can I best promote this opportunity to my supporters?
When you sign up, you get your own international ShopDonation link (for example shopdonation.org/make-a-wish). Promote it with our Fundraising Toolkit: flyers, posters, social media posts, website banners and texts, plus tips from our most successful causes. Sending an update every 2-3 months keeps your supporters shopping for you.
How can I verify that all raised funds are tracked and paid correctly?
Shoppers and causes can see all transactions and track funds raised in real time. Each donation shows exactly when it has been paid out, and causes can review every individual transaction.
What if I see a brand that I don't like, or that is a competitor of our sponsor?
Causes can disable any brand in their Settings. A disabled brand no longer appears when your cause is selected.
Can I know more about how this concept was founded?
Yes, read about it on our About page. In short: ShopDonation began as a grassroots passion project, never took investors, and grew thanks to a loyal community of socially engaged supporters.
